Watch five short video clips newly added to Poets.org: John Ashbery discusses the impact of living abroad on his work; Louise Glück declares that being a poet is the most miraculous profession and hunts for the perfect German word; Anthony Hecht repeats advice given to him by Auden; Kay Ryan laughs at chickens and the appearance of her own poem in a comic strip; and W. S. Merwin recounts meeting Pound and debates living in the country or the city. Each video is excerpted from The Poet’s View DVD, a collection of intimate portraits of five major American Poets available in the Poetry Store.

Amy King is the recipient of the 2015 Winner of the Women’s National Book Association (WNBA) Award. Her latest collection, The Missing Museum, is a winner of the 2015 Tarpaulin Sky Book Prize. She serves on the executive board of VIDA: Women in Literary Arts and is co-editing with Heidi Lynn Staples the anthology Big Energy Poets of the Anthropocene: When Ecopoets Think Climate Change. She also co-edited the anthology Bettering American Poetry 2015 and is a professor of creative writing at SUNY Nassau Community College.
