Amy King is the recipient of the 2015 Winner of the Women’s National Book Association (WNBA) Award. Her latest collection, The Missing Museum, is a winner of the 2015 Tarpaulin Sky Book Prize. She co-edited with Heidi Lynn Staples the anthology Big Energy Poets of the Anthropocene: When Ecopoets Think Climate Change. She also co-edits the anthology series, Bettering American Poetry, and is a professor of creative writing at SUNY Nassau Community College.

  1. The passing of Proposition 8 and the racist rhetoric being spewed in California has most certainly put a damper on Obama’s victory. As a queer woman of color, I feel very conflicted by the blame placed squarely on the shoulders of the black community. While I acknowledge the fact that African Americans disproportionately voted for the amendment, the anger and rage directed at the community (INCLUDING Queer POC) by elitist gay media is absolutely sickening.

    i cant believe somebody is so sick.
    People fall in love, if it’s a girl, or a boy, old or young, white or black.
    and nobody should interfere. im f’ing 15 years old and even i understand that love (shouldnt/has) no limits, it sickens me to know that people like him on the last photo exists..
