Birthday Night
Since I am too tired to replay the night, I will say, for the moment, that I had a stupendous time. Quite. Planet Thailand food, drinks at The Met, lots of nutty street behavior in between. Carra Stratton and I ran into Tunde (of ‘TV on the Radio’ fame) and Ohall (Israeli friend & bartender at 66 North 6th) in the midst of my (our?) inebriation, and so in lieu of as-yet-undeveloped birthday photos, I am posting a photo of said folk for your listening pleasure from an earlier Margaritaville visit that included Tunde, Gerard (also from TVOTR), the wonderful Aliana, and moi. A few birthday pictures will follow (& some may live up to Marcus Slease’s wish)…
I would also like to plug one of my birthday gifts from Carra: David Larsen’s new book, The Thorn, just out from Faux Press. I met the man in San Fransisco, a very lovely & generous man, whose work is equal parts humor, sincerity, and innovation. He also does visual stuff like the excellent cover of the latest Explosive Magazine (in which some of my own work appears). Here’s an excerpt from The Thorn:

She co-edited with Heidi Lynn Staples the anthology Big Energy Poets of the Anthropocene: When Ecopoets Think Climate Change.
